Why do I need a German BG-number to run my monthly payroll in Germany?
The VBG is one of the large professional associations in Germany. As the statutory accident insurance provider, it offers security to over 1.2 million member companies from over 100 industries with over ten million insured employees.
The member companies include Banks, insurance companies, temporary employment agencies, engineering and architecture offices, law firms, churches, sports clubs, companies in the ceramic and glass industry and in the trams, subways and railways.
In addition to employees and voluntarily insured entrepreneurs, patients in inpatient treatment, those undergoing rehabilitation, apprentices in vocational institutions and people with active citizenship are also comprehensively protected against the consequences of occupational accidents and diseases.
