What are the benefits usually offered by companies to their employees in Germany?

At the moment, we are trying to figure out what benefits it is usual for a similar type of company to us to offer. Do you have any insight into the benefits usually offered in Germany from the work you do with your other clients?

The typical employee benefits we would see are:

Allowances

  • Work from home allowance

  • Well-being allowance

  • Vacation pay

Expense Reimbursements

  • Paid tickets for monthly commute
  • Possibility of expensive (home) office equipment

HR Basics

  • Direct insurance, e.g. company program
  • 13th-month payment, typically in December before Christmas

Performance-oriented

  •  Performance-oriented
  • Company/Team performance bonus

Culturally

  • Early salary payment, e.g. on the 25th
  • Well-being days, extra paid days off
  • Days off to provide voluntary work etc
  • Free meals
  • No need for sick notes (that would be huge and requires a lot of trust in own employees)

In sales

  • Mobile
  • Car allowance
  • of a course compensation scheme
There is also the possibility to provide monthly tax-free vouchers of €50, e.g. to fuel the car or to purchase items on Amazon. This can be also used on a case-by-case basis.
Please note that all of those topics need to run through payroll, as we have to work out the taxable amount - if any.
